Event Description:
Join Discovery Center and friends from Pangea International Academy for a Family Chinese New Year Celebration. Chinese students who attend Clinton High School will show us how families in China celebrate this important holiday. Activities include: an authentic dragon dance, demonstrations of Tai Chi, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, and hands on stations including: writing Fú – a character that means ‘good fortune’, making a Chinese lantern, and sampling a Chinese treat. Gown-ups will also be able to address red packets for children by writing names on them in Chinese. Plan on bringing your camera, as there will be photo opportunities with the large dragon puppet. This special event is free with regular museum admission or membership.
