Sunday, March 26, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., is the Children’s Discovery Center’s 28th annual omelet breakfast fundraiser.

Event Details

Volunteers Sam Wolf, his parents Mike and Peg Wolf, and Dan Srp, prepared make-to-order omelets for Liz Clements, Ginny Hiett, and Arlene Dierksen, last year at the Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center’s Omelet Breakfast Fundraiser.  This year’s event is Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Discovery Center.  Tickets are $8 for adults and teens ($9 at the door), $5 for children ages four to 12, and free for children ages 3 and younger, and can be purchased at the Discovery Center, Déjà vu, and Boegel’s, or by calling (563) 243-3600.

The children’s museum becomes a bustling restaurant for a morning as volunteers come together to serve a delicious breakfast with proceeds benefiting the museum’s programming and special events.

As is the long-standing tradition, “celebrity” chefs will prepare custom omelets to each person’s specifications with eggs generously provided by Hy-Vee.  Also on the menu will be freshly flipped flapjacks, sausage from Fulton Meat Market, yummy baked goods, applesauce and coffee.  Milk and orange juice will be available graciously donated by Kwik Star.  Carry out orders are available.

ickets for the omelet breakfast are $8 in advance for adults and teens ($9 at the door), $5 for children ages four to 12, and free for children ages three and younger.  The purchase of an omelet breakfast ticket also includes free admission to the Children’s Discovery Center for that day.  Tickets are available at the Children’s Discovery Center, Déjà Vu, and Boegel’s Men’s Wear.

Sunday Afternoons with Miss Jean will be offered this Sunday, after the omelet breakfast, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.  Jean Sweeny will teach chess, teach juggling and get our her amazing logic puzzles and games.  This activity is free with regular museum admission.
