The New Year Brings New Activities and New Hours at the Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center

Event Details

The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center, “Clinton, Iowa’s Children’s Museum”, is exploring the chilly world of winter animals with these cool activities. It’s ‘All About Penguins’ on WOW Wednesday; and ‘Arctic Animal Fun’ moves in on Funtime Friday. These programs are free with regular museum admission. Coming soon is the Community Impact Fundraising Event at Pizza Ranch supporting the Discovery Center. Make sure to check out the Discovery Center’s new 2018 hours.

Beginning in 2018, the Discovery Center will be open until 5 p.m., allowing families more time to play together, especially after school. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Friday, January 5, at 10 a.m., is Funtime Friday, sponsored by Clinton Kiwanis Club. It’s polar bear yoga time, so come explore the world of arctic animals through movement. As always, a snack is included. This favorite program is designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups, although all age children are welcome.

The Discovery Center’s Pizza Ranch Community Impact Fundraising Event is on Monday, January 15. Make sure to save the date for this great fundraiser. From 5 to 8 p.m. come enjoy delicious pizza and buffet. The Discovery Center will be there to welcome guests and serve tables. There will also be facepainting and fun for all ages. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on this cheesy event.

Regular admission to the Discovery Center is $4 per person ages two to 64, $3 per person ages 65 and older, free for children one and younger, and free for members of the children’s museum. Hours through the end of 2017 are Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 12:30 to 5 p.m.

The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center is a non-profit children’s museum whose mission is to provide a safe and positive environment for families to discover the world by exploring arts, culture, literacy and science through educational programs and interactive exhibits.
