Record high on Tuesday

Today (Tuesday) there was another record high temperature.  Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess reported a high of 97 and that broke record of 96 for September 10th set in 1931. » Read more..

Record high on Monday

There was a record high temperature Monday.  Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says Monday is the hottest September 9th in 101 years.

The high Monday was 98 and the record for the date was 97 first set in 1912 and tied in 1933.

Area law enforcement agency aids in recent child pornography case

A  Former Davenport Man Sentenced to prison for Receiving Child Pornography.  The DeWitt Police Department was involved in the investigation.

On September 6, 2013, 34 year old  David Adair Woolison, formerly from Davenport, Iowa, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Stephanie M. Rose to 70 months in prison, after pleading guilty to receiving child pornography.

Judge Rose also ordered Woolison to serve five years of supervised release following imprisonment, register as a sex offender, and pay $100 towards the Crime Victims Fund. Woolison admitted to receiving child pornography from November 2008 to April 2011.

This case was investigated by the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Dewitt, Iowa, Police Department and the Davenport, Iowa, Police Department, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.

Camanche Council

The Camanche City Council will review the ‘vicious dog ordinance.’  A proposal was discussed at last night’s (Tuesday) council meeting to ban pit bull dogs.  City Manager Tom Roth says the council decided instead to review the ordinance first and determine if any changes need to be made. » Read more..
