5th Avenue South Resurfacing

The City of Clinton will begin the asphalt resurfacing project on 5th Avenue South on Thursday, May 21, 2015. No road closures are expected with this work, only temporary delays within the intersections during milling and paving operations. ‘Read more’ for the plans and schedule.

The process will begin with removal of the existing asphalt surface from South 4th Street to South Bluff Blvd. This milling process will take 2 days and will be completed by this weekend.

Once the asphalt is removed, the City will inspect the brick pavers underneath for stability. Anything unstable will be removed and replaced before resurfacing.

Asphalt resurfacing is scheduled to be complete by Friday, May 29, 2015. During the duration of this work, parking will be restricted during working hours only. Vehicles that are left on the street during working hours may be towed by the Police Department.

Please contact the City Engineering Department with any questions at 563-244-3423.
