Be prepared for an upcoming election

Two Clinton School Board members are circulating nomination petitions to run for another term but third member says they will not be on the ballot. Nomination petitions can’t be filed for a couple of weeks.

Three seats on the Clinton School are ‘up’ for election this year.
Board members Jim McGraw and Jenny Green tell KROS NEWS they will be running for re-election.
Miss Sullivan-Pope, who has been filling an unexpired term told KROS NEWS she will not seek a full term on the ballot.
School Board terms are four years.

Candidates for school board seats have a couple of more weeks before they can start to turn in nomination petitions. It takes 50 signatures to be eligible to be on the ballot for a Clinton School Board seat.

July 6th is the first day a school board candidate can turn in nomination petitions and the final day is July 30th.

The school board election is September 8th.

If you’re looking ahead to the Clinton City Council elections there are three seats and mayor’s position on the ballot.

The filing period begins August 24 and the deadline is 5 p.m. September 17.
To run for the Clinton mayor’s position you would need 85 signatures on a nomination petition.
Running for the 2nd ward seat needs 25 signatures and the 4th ward you need 24. There is one at-large seat available and to be on the ballot for that position 85 signatures are needed.

Petitions can not be filed outside the dates for August 24th to September 17th window for city council seats.
