School Board Candidates Needed

Anyone who wants to run for a school board seat has until next Thursday (July 30th) to file nomination papers. Some local districts appear to have open spots on the ballot.

In the Clinton School District there are three seats up for election this year. Board members Jim McGraw and Jenny Green who hold two of those seats have said they will be running.  Missy Sullivan-Pope, who holds the other seat up for election, is ‘not’ running. she was appointed to fill the remainder of a term when a board member resigned after taking another job out of town.

With two candidates circulating nomination petitions School officials say they have not heard anyone else running.

Camanche School Superintendent Tom Parker says there are four seats up for election this year. But, he says to date there three candidates circulating nomination petitions for the school board election that they are aware of.

School Board terms are for four years. The school board election is September 8th.
