IPSCO PLANT temporarily idled

A spokesman for the IPSCO Company stresses that the Camanche Plant will be temporarily idled. Robert Bentley says the company has no intention of closing the plant.

He says 43 workers will be put on layoff at the end of September.
The Camanche IPSCO Plant produce pipe used in drilling for oil. Bentley says with low price of oil the demand is reduced.
He said the Camanche plant will be put back in operation when the demand increases.
The IPSCO spokesman says the number one key for demand for pipe is the number of rigs in operation drilling for oil. Bentley says the Keystone pipeline is not a factor for the demand from the Camanche IPSCO PLANT.
