Low Voter Turnout In Clinton City Election

Elections Commissioner Eric Van Lancker said while the City of Clinton turnout is currently unofficial, it’s estimated to be less than 18%.

He says it was a bout 1,000 votes less than the last mayoral election four years ago and the lowest turnout in the City of Clinton since 2009 when the turnout was 14.5%. Van Lanker added – This is obviously a disappointing voter turnout in the City of Clinton.

Elections Commissioner Eric Van Lanker said there will be absentee ballots available for the runoff election, but he wasn’t sure yet how soon those would be available.
