A 4th person has been added to the special election ballot for a Clinton City Council vacancy

An error was discovered at the elections commission office and an additional candidate was added to the ballot today-‘Read More’ for the statement from the Elections Commissioner.

Clinton County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Eric Van Lancker has announced filing for candidates to get their name printed on March 22, 2016, City of Clinton Special Election ballot has been completed.

Names that will appear on the ballot to fill the Clinton At-Large seat vacancy include Scott Bengtson, Sean Connell, Brian Tugana and April Diss. Diss was added to the ballot after an error was discovered in the County Auditor’s Office.

Traditional City of Clinton City Election polling locations will be open for this election on March 22 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those locations include:
• Clinton Ward 1: First United Methodist Church, 621 S. 3rd St.
• Clinton Ward 2: Calvary Baptist Church, 1619 2nd Ave. S.
• Clinton Ward 3: Ericksen Community Center, 1401 11th Ave. N.
• Clinton Ward 4: Church of the Open Door, 816 13th Ave. N.

Van Lancker reminded voters that absentee voting is available for this election. Voters may send their completed and signed absentee ballot request to the Auditor’s Office. Ballots will be mailed as soon as they are available. In-person absentee balloting at the Auditor’s Office will also be available as soon as ballots are available. An announcement will be made when in-person voting may begin.
