There will be a couple of contested races for Clinton County elected offices this year.

Wednesday was the deadline for candidates to file nomination papers to run for a county office.

Democrat John Staszewski will seek re-election to the County Board.  Republican Tom Determann will be seeking the one seat up for election this year.

Democrat County Auditor Eric Van Lancker is seeking re-election.  Republican Laura Kauffman is challenging the incumbent.

Clinton County Sheriff Rick Lincoln is not being challenged in his re-election bid.

State and federal candidates filed earlier this month to run in the election later this year.

Clinton Area State Representative Mary Wolfe is seeking re-election.  She will be challenged by Republican Jeannine Eldrernkamp.

Republican Norlin Mommsen is seeking re-election to the House Seat representing western Clinton County and part of northern Scott County.

No Democrat filed to run for that seat.
