Look Our for a couple of street projects

There are some projects getting underway that may impact your driving routes.

Iowa American Water Company will be working on a water main in the 800 block of North 11th Street.

During this construction, which started Friday, North 11th Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic during working hours.  Iowa American Water Company’s contractor will control traffic with flaggers during this operation, which is expected to be complete on Friday, April 22, 2016.

Another project will be starting next week.  Due to work on the railroad tracks, the crossings at 4th Avenue South and South 1st Street will be closed beginning the morning of Tuesday, April 19, 2016, and will remain closed until the afternoon of Thursday, April 21, 2016.

Due to Union Pacific Railroad work, the crossing at 44th Avenue South -east of Low Moor- will be closed on Monday, April 18, 2016, from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.  No traffic will be able to use this crossing.

Due to this work, 44th Avenue South will be closed to through traffic from South 54th Street to the 4-way stop in Low Moor during this time frame.  Through traffic will need to use alternate routes.

Please contact the Engineering Department at 563.244.3423 with any questions.
