Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Confirms Clinton Man Drowned In A Saturday incident

On Saturday afternoon the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the report of a possible drowning on 607th Avenue, rural Sabula.

While searching a small lake, a male subject was located by First Responders.  The subject, Eugene Kemp Jr., was removed from the water and transported to the Mercy Hospital in Clinton.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The victim was formally identified as 21 year old Eugene Albert Kemp Jr. of Clinton.

Assisting at the scene were the Sabula Fire and Rescue, Sabula Ambulance, Savanna,Illinois Fire Department Rescue Boat, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Jackson County Emergency Management.

The incident remains under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Clinton County Medican Examiner’s Office.
