Former Ashford Residence Hall Is Scheduled For Auction Sale

The former Best Western Hotel property-used as a residence hall by Ashford University- is up for auction. Link to auction site is included

A member of the development group owning the property believes the property will be sold within a month.

After Ashford closed their campus in Clinton a group known as Clinton Catalyst purchased all of the property including the former hotel and campus.

Brian Clem confirmed to K-R-O-S NEWS the former hotel property is registered with an online auction company.

He says they want to get the property sold so they can concentrate on developing and finding a new use for the campus.

Clem said they had received some offers for the property that were not hotel uses, but they wanted to keep it as a hotel facility.  He says they received some offers after registering with the auction so there is interest.

The auction site will take bids from August 8th to August 10th with a minimum bid of 500-thousand dollars.

The group has been working to find another educational or school use for the campus site.
