A new local organization will be working on a clean-up campaign this weekend.

The Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency is partnering with the group ‘Up Earth’ in a roadside litter collection program. (links included for more information)

Up to Earth, a local grassroots group aimed at the betterment of its surroundings and human relationships with the environment, will take part in the first “Keep it Clean’ event this Saturday (August 13th). The cleanup will focus on litter and debris that has been purposefully dumped or unintentionally left in the roadside ditches between Mill Creek Parkway and Solid Waste Agency’s Main Entrance along 13th Avenue North. The event starts at agecy in rural Clinton, at 11 AM and moves east toward Mill Creek Parkway. Work will continue until 2 PM.

Up to Earth will also host the first “Keep Our Roadsides Clean” event the following day, Sunday, August 14th. The cleanup focuses on the stretch of Elvira Road, also known as 220th Street, from the Solid Waste Agency’s Main Entrance heading west to the community of Elvira. This event also runs from 11 AM to 2 PM.
