The Clinton City Council meets in a Committee Of The Whole session Tuesday evening.

The Council will hear about a review of the candidates who have applied for the City Administrator’s position.  Last week KROS NEWS reported there were 22 applicants for the position.  The Tuesday presentation is expected to include the consultant’s pick for the finalists and a schedule to proceed in the process.

The Tuesday meeting will also included the topic of the City Assessor’s position and the elimination of the city position.

The council will also receive a report from a citizen’s group that had been formed to review the city council and mayor’s compensation.  They noted that the last increase was approved eight years ago.  They recommend a  $3,000 increase for the mayor and council members. That would bring the council member’s pay to $9,000 a year and the mayor’s to $18,000 a year.  Any increase would be effective after the next election for any office.

The council meeting is at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening.
