Monday’s Clinton County Board meeting delayed by Monday morning icy driving conditions-check out the tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week-
The Clinton County Board has the regular Monday morning business meeting today. Due to icy road conditions this morning the opening of the Clinton County Offices was delayed until 10 A-M and that will delay the County Board meeting a couple of hours and start now at 11:15.
The Supervisors will consider joining with the city of Clinton’s plan to hire a lobbyist to work on local issues during the current session. Supervisor voiced tentative support at an earlier discussion. The County is asked to provided 5-thousand*500 dollars toward the 15-thousand cost. In addition to Clinton and Clinton County the communities of DeWitt and Camanche plus the Clinton Chamber Of Commerce and the Clinton Development Corporation are asked to join the effort.
The County Board will also continue budget sessions with various departments today. The Supervisors will also meet with departments on budgets during sessions on Friday.

The Clinton City Council has a budget session today. That meeting will be this afternoon and follow a special meeting at 3 o’clock.
The council will hold a public hearing on the plan to appoint a person to fill a vacancy on the council. The public hearing is a requirement of the process of filling a vacancy. Applications for the appointment are being accepted until Thursday this week. It’s planned that the interested candidates will be interviewed at next week’s council meeting. The vacancy was created by the resignation of At-Large Council Member Tom Determann who was elected to the County Board.
The budget session will focus on the overall general fund which funds much of the operation of the city including Police and Fire Departments.

The Camanche School Board meets tonight at 7:30.

The Fulton City Council meets this evening (Monday) at the Fulton City Hall at 5:30
The Camanche City Council meets on Tuesday evening. The session is at 6 P-M at city hall.
Closed sessions are planned to discuss offers on the old city hall – a second session is to discuss the police chief applicants and another would be to discuss the mediation process in negotiations.
