One of the top Clinton School’s administrative post is now filled

The Clinton Community School District is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Wes Golden for the central office position of Director of Learning and Collaboration.

Since 1997, Dr. Golden has been a Physics, Astronomy, and Earth Sciences teacher at Clinton High School.  He also is a Colonel in the Iowa National Guard.

In addition to his teaching position, Dr. Golden has served in numerous leadership positions with the Clinton Schools, including Department Chair, Teacher Leader Coordinator, Professional Learning Community Leader, and Head Varsity Cross Country Coach for boys and girls.

Wes Golden did his undergraduate work at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Physics Education.  Dr. Golden also has earned a Masters degree in Science in Geosciences from Mississippi State University, a Doctor of Education in Teacher Leadership from Northcentral University in Arizona and, this summer, will earn a Masters of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College.

Gary DeLacy, newly selected Superintendent of the Clinton Schools states, “We are excited to have Wes join the central office team.  His unique experiences, both in the classroom and in the military, along with his passion for excellence, will build upon the successes the Clinton staff and students have attained over the past several years.”

Golden will be replacing John Jorgensen who announced his retirement earlier this year to be effective June 30th.
