RECEPTION REPORT FROM FINLAND ON KROS Clinton IA on 1340KHz

Hi KROS Team,

Tervehdys (greetings!) from Finland!  We are Ismo and Vesa, two semi-pro AM radio enthusiasts from Finland. Our hobby is all about receiving and identifying distant AM radio stations. (link to audio included)

We would like to inform you about our recent reception of KROS  here in Finland.

Receiving KROS was possible when we spent a week in the famous Aihkiniemi DX-pedition base, nearly 200 Miles north of the Arctic Circle in northern Finland.

Date of reception: 10/14/2016
Time: 0406 UTC
Frequency: 1340 KHz
What we heard: Please listen to the clip we have created. It is stored in a safe and well-known American cloud storage Box.com.  Here is a direct link to the audio clip:

local note: heard during the John Batchelor Show

We would appreciate if you could kindly confirm, as a verification, that we heard KROS’s signal.

Our AM receiving equipment include Microtelecom’s Perseus and SDRPlay Software Defined Radios (SDR) and a wide selection of longwire antennas of 1000 meters each.

We live in South Finland with our families, but we are used to travel up to the north in fall or in winter season to catch rare AM signals, fishing, photographing, hiking in the woods and we love what we do! 🙂 Attached please see our photo from the DX base.

Wishing the best of success to you and to your team at KROS. Hoping to hear from you soon….

With kind regards,
