Official statement from Clinton School Superintendent Deb Olson regarding empty school buses involved in an accident.

Today at approximately 2:50 P.M., 4 Clinton School buses were involved in a chain reaction traffic accident in the Clinton Middle School parking lot as they were lining up to pick up students after school. NO students were on the buses at the time of the accident.

One driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At this time, this is an on-going investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The accident caused a significant delay in transporting students home (some as long as a 40 minute delay) from the middle and elementary schools.

A huge thank you to our CMS staff and students, CCSD transportation department, city transportation, and Clinton fire and police departments for doing an amazing job coordinating efforts in assurance that our students were able to be safely transported home. We are so fortunate to live in Clinton where people step in and step up to help.
