Armed Robbery Arrest

Clinton Police report an arrest of suspect in robbery report while investigating several other robbery reports.

In the report – Clinton Police state that officers were called to the Casey’s at 1336 Camanche Avenue about 2 o’clock in the morning on May 26th.

The officers received a report that a male, armed with a weapon confronted a clerk outside the business and forced the employee into the business and demanded money. The male suspect fled the store with case and cigarettes.  No one was injured in the incident.

Following an investigation, Police now report the arrest of 43 year old Antoine J. Allen of Clinton on a charge of First Degree Robbery in connection to the report.

The Clinton Police Department also reports there are investigations underway into reports of similar robberies in recent days.

Those robbery reports came from the Hop-N-Shop at 718 South 4th Street on May 7th and the Dollar General Store at 1428 Camanche Avenue on May 26th.

Charges are pending in those cases.
