Rain

The rain on Saturday totaled 2.57 inches’ according to Clinton Area Official Weather Observer Jim Blaess.

Blaess added that nearly one-point-seven inches of the total came in about an hour –from about 5 to 6 pm.

He says the 2.57 inches tied for 22nd plane for the most rain in a 24 hour period.  The highest total in a 24 hour period was 4-point-8 inches on June 17th in 1973.

For the month, Blaess says the total is now 2.91 inches compared the normal of the month of June of 4.6 inches.

The weekend rains brought the year to date total above normal.  Blaess says the average for the first six months of the year is 16.91 inches and to date there has been 18.88 inches of precipitation.
