Summer like weather

Wednesday is the first day with 90 or above temperatures since June 15th – according to Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess.

He says the high of 91 this afternoon (Wednesday) is short of the record high for September 20th  of 94 set in 1920.

The high for September 21st is also 94 set in 1920 and tied in 1940.

Earlier this week there was some measurable precipitation.  Blaess says on the 18th there was .11 of an inch.   The last measurable rain was on August 28th when there was also a small amount.

The driest September, according to Blaess was 1979 with .13 of an inch.  The normal rain fall in September is 2.95 inches.
