Clinton area official weather observer Jim Blaess says the snow on Saturday was just 3.1 inches.  He says brought the February total 9.2 inches of snow and the normal is just 6.8 inches of snow.

For the snow season of October through today the Clinton area has recorded nearly 37.9 inches of snow according to the weather observer. Blaess says the normal for October through the end of February is 25.7 inches

Blaess said this morning’s (Monday) low of 16 below zero was NOT a record for the date. But it was the 6th day in the month with zero or below temperatures and the normal is three.  It also made the 27th day of zero or below temperatures and Blaess says the normal for the winter season is eleven days.  The record low of February 10th is 20 below set in 1899.

The record low for February 11th, Blaess says, is 16 below set in 1895.

Blaess reports normal temperatures for mid-February are a high of 34 and a low of 17.
