Public input meeting/open house on sidewalk maintenance and bike/sidewalk connectivity

An open house will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the Erickson Center (located at 1401 11th Avenue North) from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The goal of this public meeting will be to determine goals and obtain public opinions on sidewalk maintenance, bike/pedestrian paths and sidewalk connectivity. ‘Read More’ for further details.

The next step will be to begin focusing on creating a Trails Advisory Committee to advise and organize the plans regarding sidewalks, bike trails, and bike lanes.  Any persons interested in serving on this committee can sign up at the meeting.

There will be a few “stations” at the open house with Engineering Department representatives to assist and answer questions.  These “stations” will be:

●  Maps.  You will be able to see the existing trail network, point out its shortcomings and discuss useful connections and paths. Citizens can point out where they are currently walking or riding and where they would like to be able to access that they currently cannot.

●  Surveys.  The Engineering Department would like to use surveys to help establish a baseline on what information the public is already aware of. The surveys will also be used to collect information regarding what qualities are important to the public regarding sidewalks, bike trails and recreation trails.

●Informational posters.  These will help to further explain topics of discussion.
