New Firetruck Has Arrived

The Clinton Fire Department is preparing to put a new ladder truck into service.  ‘Read more’ for details and images of the new truck.Fire Chief Mike Brown says the new truck cost is just under $850,000 He says part of the cost is included in a city bond issue and a small portion will be paid from the sale of the old ladder truck.

The new Engine 59 replaces a 20 year old ladder truck and Brown says it provides many advantages.  A longer ladder and better technology are just of the couple of those advantages the Fire Chief pointed out.

Brown says there is still equipment to install and training with the new engine before putting it into service.  He expects to put the new truck into service in late August.

The old truck will be sold and Brown says there has already been some interest expressed by other communities.
