Dry weather in July while it was cooler than normal.

Cooler and drier than normal is the headline for July weather.

Clinton Area Weather Observer Jim Blaess says the temperature overall averaged 73.3 degress.  That was 1.6 degree below the normal for July of 74.9 degrees.

There were 3 days with a high of 90 or above and the normal is six days.  Blaess reported the highest temperature during the month was 91 on the 13th.

The lowest was 53 on the 28th.

Blaess recorded 1.65 of an inch of precipitation.  He says is 1.95 inches below normal of 3.60 inches.  The Weather Observer says precipitation was recorded on five days during July – the 12th and 13th and then the 19th, 20th and 21st.

July 2018 will be 22nd driest July in local weather records according to Blaess.

In August, Blaess says the average is 4.41 inches of precipitation and four days of 90 or above temperatures.

Blaess says the average on August 1st is 84 and the average low is 64.  Those fall to an average high of 81 and low of 60 by the end of the month.
