Tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week

The Clinton School Board, Clinton City Council, Clinton County Board, Fulton City Council and Northeast School Board are scheduled to meet this week.  (links to agendas included

The Clinton School Board meets in a regular session today (Monday).  The meeting will be at 5:30 at the School District Administration Center.

The Fulton City Council will face questions about the Drives Building at their regular meetings this evening (Monday).

During the business meeting the council will consider bids for the demolition of the Drives Building.  The council had earlier decided with moving ahead with tearing down the building.

During the Committee Of the Whole session the council is scheduled to hear from the local Historical Society about the purchase of the building.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 at the Fulton City Hall.


With the Monday holiday the Clinton County Board will be meeting on Tuesday morning at 9:15

During the business session the Supervisors are scheduled to consider approval of the Home Base Iowa benefits for three individuals.  The three would receive a 15-hundred dollar rebate from the county to help with closing costs for the retired veteran to purchase a home in the county.

The County Board will convene at 8:30 Wednesday morning at the County Administration Building to canvass the votes in past Tuesday’s election.

The Clinton City Council is meeting this week in a regular session.

The Council is to consider the approval of an update of incentives offered to retired military personnel to move to the city.  A change in tax abatement offers prompted the city to look at the Home Base Iowa incentives since the rebate had been one of the offers.

During the Committee Of the Whole session the council will consider an extension of the city benefits for the rehabilitation of the Wilson Building in downtown Clinton.  There is no increase in the financial cost, but a further extension for the project.

The Northeast School Board will be meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 at the Elementary Building Library.

Other various committee meetings this week include the Clinton Monument Committee meets at November 15th at 3:15 at City Hall

– The Clinton Capital Improvements Planning Committee will be meeting on November 14th at 3:30

– A Clinton Committee to look at potential grants meets on November 14th at 2 P-M

– The city’s Traffic Study Commission meets on November 13th at 4:45

and the Clinton Progress Coalition meets on November 14th at 7:30 A-M at Clinton City Hall.
