Local unemployment rates drop

The unemployment rate for Clinton and Clinton County dropped from September to October.

Statistics from the Iowa Workforce Development Agency shows the Clinton County unemployment rate in October was 2.6 percent.  That’s down from 2.9 percent in September and from 3-percent in October 2017.

In Clinton the unemployment rate in October was 2.7 percent. That was down from 3.2 percent in September.

In both the County and City the workforce remained stable while the number of people considered employed rose.
