Latest local unemployment report

The unemployment rate in Clinton and Clinton County rose from November to December.

The latest report from the Iowa Workforce Development agency shows the unemployment rate in Clinton County went from 2.5 percent in November to 3.2 percent in December.  That is below the December 2017 rate of 3.7.

In the city the rate rose from 2.8 percent in November to 3.3 percent in December.

In the county-wide statistic the agency shows the number of people considered unemployed rose from 580 in November to 730 in December. The number of people considered in the workforce declined in the report.
