Name of person killed in single car crash on Friday has now been released

The identity of the person killed in a single car crash Friday in Clinton County has now been identified as a Clinton woman by the Iowa State Patrol. The victim has been identified as 24 year old Ashley Clary of Clinton.

Friday afternoon Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the crash on a road west of Folletts.  Investigators report the driver lost control and entered the south shoulder of the road and then overcorrected causing the vehicle to rol and land on the passenger side in the westbound lane of 292nd Street.

There were three occupants of the vehicle.  A passenger had been ejected from the vehicle. All occupants were transported to Genesis Hospital for treatment and the passenger then transported to The University of Iowa Hospital.  The passenger later died as a result of her injuries from the accident.

Also injured was 26 year old Brandon Clary of Clinton.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified in the I-S-P report.

 

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Low Moor Fire and Rescue, Genesis Ambulance, and the Iowa State Patrol. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the family. The accident is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
