Cleaning Planned on Highway 30 Bridge

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting,
construction work will begin this Wednesday, August 21, 2019, on the US Route 30 Gateway Bridge over
the Mississippi River. Interstate Maintenance, Inc. will be completing the yearly bridge washing of the
structural steel.
Traffic across the bridge will be reduced to one lane utilizing flaggers from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
during the weekdays. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes during the estimated week
required to complete the washing.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey
the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
