Public help sought in local armed robbery case

On Sunday evening, September 22, 2019, at 7:55 p.m., The Tri Stop convenience store located on Hwy 136 in Lost Nation, IA was robbed at gunpoint. Deputies from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the store.

The clerk reported that a single young white male subject entered through the front door wearing a ski mask, sunglasses and latex gloves. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the clerk to empty the money from the cash register into a bag. He also told the clerk to also include JUUL starter kits and pods.

The suspect then fled the area on foot headed eastbound from the store.

Deputies were assisted by Troopers from the Iowa State Patrol. The incident remains under investigation. Persons with information about the robbery are asked to contact the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers  at 563-242-6595.
