Local Unemployment Rates Rise

Local unemployment rates were up in August.  The latest local figures from the Iowa Workforce Development Agency show the number of people employed dropped while the number considered unemployed increased.

In Clinton County the unemployment rate in August was four percent.  That compares to 3.5 percent in July and 3.2 percent in August 2018.

In the city of Clinton the rate also increased from 3.9 percent in July to 4.7 percent in August.
