Candidate Andre Ruby issued a statement about ending his campaign for the council seat-here’s his statement issued via his Facebook page
Effective 10-10-2019, I am rescinding my candidacy. There has been questions of whether I was still running, but at that point I could not give an answer as the opportunity did not complete negotiations and decisions. I have accepted a Position as a Flight Paramedic in the State of Arizona. This offers a significant opportunity for professional growth. It has been an absolute privilege to get to know all the citizens that I have gotten to know. I am certain that in the end whoever prevails in this Election will be a voice for you. I would encourage you to make the decision at the poll on the best choice. For me I will still be present in the community as I am working two weeks out of a month but few we need more availability then I could offer the Ward. Once again thank you for your support and keep the city moving forward.
