Record Low For November 12th

There’s a new record low in the Clinton weather records for November 12th.  Clinton Area Weather Observer Jim Blaess says it dropped to 2 degrees below zero breaking the old record of 9 degrees set in 1921.

Blaess says this is the coldest temperature in the first 16 days of November in the weather records to the late 1800’s.

He says it is also the first below zero temperature recorded in November since November 26th of 1977 when it was 6 degrees below zero.

The Weather Observer also pointed out this is the 11th time since 1891 there has been a below zero temperature in the month of November.

Blaess says the last below zero reading was March 4th when it was minus 6.
