Riverbend School Statement on issue at the school today

Around 12:45 p.m. the school SRO was notified of a 911 call which caused all four River Bend School buildings to go into lockdown.  Students remained in locked classrooms under teacher supervision until police were able to determine the nature of the 911 call.  Normal student activities and classes were resumed for the remainder of day at that time.  Police will continue to investigate and advise the school district regarding this situation.

The school district is extremely thankful for the immediate police presence.  Several officers from surrounding communities were on site and remained throughout the day.   River Bend Staff did an excellent job reassuring students during the lockdown.  Counselors and staff will be on hand to process any concerns students may have.

The school district also would like to thank the parents for their trust and patience with the school as we worked through this lockdown.  Student safety is always our top priority.

Gratefully, Dr. Darryl Hogue
