Tentative schedule of meetings this week


The Clinton School Board and Clinton City Council are among the governmental bodies meeting this week-read more about the meetings

Monday is the meeting day for the Clinton School Board. They will have a Committee of the Whole session at 6 P-M at the Administration Center. At the session the board will consider moving ahead with a funding plan for short term borrowing for the construction of the new middle school.

The Fulton, Illinois city council meets on Monday in a regular business session. The marina will be one of the topics for the council.
The meeting is at 5:30 P-M at the Fulton City Hall.

Monday is also the meeting day for the Camanche School Board. The board will consider the formal approval of a proposed renovation of the wrestling room. The Camanche School Board will also consider soliciting bids for new lights at the football field and track stadium plus a separate action to install new bleachers on the visitor’s side of the field.


The Eastern Iowa Community College Board of Directors meets in Clinton on Monday. The board governs the Clinton Community College, Muscatine Community College and Scott Community College. Among the items the board will consider are tuition and fees.
The meeting is at 7 P-M.

The Clinton County Board is meeting on Tuesday this week – instead of the usual Monday session. The meeting will start at the regular time of 9 A-M at the Administration Building.

Tuesday night is the regular meeting of the Clinton City Council. The session will convene at 7 o’clock with the business meeting and then a committee of the whole meeting.
During the business meeting the council will consider approval of a proposed two year contract with the firefighters union. At the last meeting the council tabled the issue as council members were concerned they did not have enough information, the raise was too much and there wasn’t enough contribution toward insurance. The union has approved the proposal. The council will also consider the formal action to hire the Lynch, Dallas law firm as the city’s legal counsel as that service is being outsourced.
During the committee of the whole session the council will consider a communication process with the legal firm. The council will also review the audit for the fiscal year that ended at the end of June 2013. When the audit was presented some council members said they wanted time to review it and ask questions.

The Riverbend School Board meets on Tuesday evening at 6:30. The board will discuss the various fees for the 2014-2015 school year.
