Flood Warning issued by the NWS for the area

Rising levels along the Mississippi have reached the stage requiring Clinton officials to install the flood gates at the 9th Avenue North area. That work is expected to be done this afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued a ‘Flood Warning’ for the Camanche area. Heavy rain and some snow melt from last weekend is pushing the Mississippi river above flood stage.

The Flood Warning is in effect until Friday evening..

This morning the Mississippi was at 16-point-8 feet at the Camanche gauge and rising with flood stage is considered 17 feet. With that level there is minor flooding is forecast.
The river is expected to exceed flood stage Tuesday and morning and reach 17-point-2 feet Wednesday and fall below flood stage Friday evening.
At the 17 foot level the water affects some low-lying residences in the Albany, Illinois area.

The National Weather Service predicts the river at Lock and Dam 13 north of Fulton to reach 15-point-6 feet on Wednesday. The flood stage is considered 16 feet.
