The Clinton City Council meets on Tuesday at 5 pm at City Hall.

During the business meeting the council consider formal action to set a franchise fee on local utility bills.  The funds would help cover a deficit in the general fund budget.  During budget discussions officials say that deficit is due to reductions in property values and specifically a majority of that due to a couple of industries appealing their valuations.  During those budget discussions the council was in agreement with the franchise fee, but did not set a rate.
