Official precipitation totals

The rainfall from the storms overnight totaled 1.29 inches. Clinton area official weather observer Jim Blaess says there were a couple of periods of rain that made the total. One period was Sunday evening and then there was more rain this morning.

Blaess said before the rain the month’s total had been 1.57 inches and with recent rain the total for the month is now2.86 inches. That’s nearly the April average of 2.9.

For the year to date the precipitation recorded by the weather observer is 6.63 inches and compared to the average for the first four months of the year 7.99 inches.
Blaess says compared to the first four months of 2013 of just over 13-point-6 inches we are about 7 inches below the 2013 total for the first four months.
