Police update the investigation into the body found near Eagle Point Park

Clinton Police say that through the preliminary investigation they have a tentative identity of the body found Sunday near Eagle Point Park. While not releasing the identity yet, Police reported this afternoon they DO NOT believe it is the body of Ben Roseland who went missing February 9, 2009


Few other details have been released about the discovery of human remains found Sunday morning in a wooded area in Clinton near Eagle Point Park,
According to a news release from the Clinton Police Department the body was discovered about 11 a.m. by a resident who was mushroom hunting. The victim’s remains will be sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy.
The identity of the remains is being withheld, pending positive identification and notification of the family
The case remains under investigation by the Clinton Police Department and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
