U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Preventative COVID-19 Closures

Published March 18, 2020

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District has closed all visitor centers, beaches, day use areas and project offices to the public. Boat ramps and trails will remain open and available.

Unopened Corps campgrounds within the Rock Island District will have an indefinite delay in their previously advertised seasonal openings. Refunds will be provided through Recreation One-Stop (1-877-444-6777 or recreation.gov). All other events, including Corps-sponsored events, interpretive programs, lock-and-dam tours and site visits scheduled through May 11 are now cancelled.

The Rock Island District regrets any inconvenience caused by these closures. The safety and health our visitors and employees is our top priority.
