Iowa leading states for initial Census response and Clinton County is ahead of the state rate

The U-S Census Bureau says Iowa is one of the very best states so far in terms of its response rate to this year’s big count.

Iowa’s response rate ranks number-four in the country as of March 24th.  The total Iowa response is 32.3 %.

Wisconsin at 32.9% – Nebraska at 32.5%and Minnesota at 32.4% lead the state listings

Clinton County’s response is ahead of the state average at 35.9%.  The city of Clinton has response of 32.8%.  Camanche has a self-response rate of 42.3% and DeWitt has a self-response rate of 43.6&

The mailers started going out March 12th. Beginning in May, census takers will start knocking on doors of homes from which there’s been no response.
