The Clinton City Council O-K’d issuing a request for proposal for applicants to redesign a new website for the city.  The council considered the issue at the committee of the whole session, but it did not require formal approval at a business meeting.

City Administrator Jessica Kinser said it’s been clearly stated from the council  “our website needs some assistance” and appears outdated

Applicants would have 45 days to respond with at least two proposed designs and a committee would review applicants and forward some finalists for the council to consider.

Kinser said there is about $62,000 in proceeds from fees at the former city dock that has be unused and not designated since 2012 that she is proposing could be used to pay for redesign.  On-going costs, she said, would be included in the budget in future years.

Some council members suggested the possibility of generating on-going maintenance revenue through the website through advertising
