Clinton School Board looking for someone to help fill out the term of member who is resigning

The Clinton School Board will be looking for a new member. Devin Guillory will be resigning from the board because has taken a job in Saudi Arabia. He is currently a chemical engineer at the LyondellBassell plant in Clinton and has taken the job overseas at a similar company.

At the board meeting on Tuesday he said he would be leaving at the end of June.  Guillory commented at the meeting that he was ‘grateful for the experience…
Guillory was first elected to the board in October 2011 and the term runs until October 2015.
School Superintendent Deb Olson said the process according to policy would be appoint someone to the fill out the term within 30 days or there would have to be an election to fill out the term.
Board members or others were encouraged to contact Board President Jim McGraw with the names of persons who might be willing to fill the seat on the board.


The Clinton School Board was meeting in a work session to develop goals for the coming year. Superintendent Deb Olson said the board goals set the focus and vision for the district.
The board discussed various ides with some of the goals based on marketing the district, improving student achievement and improving the work climate. The ideas will be formalized and considered for adoption at a future school board meeting.
