Motorcycle operator involved in a crash with deer has died at the hospital

The motorcycle crash with a deer near Camanche on Wednesday night has now resulted in the death of the motorcycle operator.  The Iowa Highway Patrol lists the accident as a fatality. Killed in the accident was 53 year old Richard Beswick of Fulton, Illinois.

The crash report from the State Patrol shows the motorcycle was southbound on Highway 67 near Camanche when a deer emerged from the west ditch and ran directly into the path of the cycle. The motorcycle hit the deer and came to rest on the east shoulder of the highway.

The highway was closed for about 90 minutes as emergency crews were at the scene and victim was airlifted to the Genesis Hospital in the Quad Cities via Med Force.
