Record high on Monday

There was a record high temperature Monday.  Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says Monday is the hottest September 9th in 101 years.

The high Monday was 98 and the record for the date was 97 first set in 1912 and tied in 1933.

Blaess also said the 98 was the warmest day in a September since 98 on September 7th of 1985.

The record high for today (Tuesday) is 96 set in 1931.

There has been one other 90 degree or warmer day this month with 92 on Saturday September 7th.  But Blaess says that was NOT a record for the date.
