New Artistic Director named for Clinton Area Showboat Theater (including information on comments)

There will be a change at the helm of the Clinton Area Showboat Theater.

At the Follies production last night – Artistic Director Tommy Iafrate announced he is leaving at the end of the season. He started with CAST in 2010 as the Education Director and directing a show. He returned for a second year and then has been the Artistic Director for the past three years.  (Iafrate is scheduled to be on-the-air August 8th to talk about “Alice In Wonderland” and we’ll visit about his announcement.)

Clinton Area Showboat Theater board president Neil Luker announced at the event that after a search process that included 17 applicants that Mathew Teague Miller has been hired as the new Artistic Director. Miller is currently directing the production of Les Miserables at Timberlake Playhouse near Mt. Carroll, Illinois.  (via email contact, Miller told us that he would be glad to visit with us about his hiring by CAST next week , after the show opens at TLP)

The 2015 line-up of shows will be announced later.
