Record high on Tuesday

Today (Tuesday) there was another record high temperature.  Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess reported a high of 97 and that broke record of 96 for September 10th set in 1931.

On Monday there was also a record high of 98 which broke the record for September 9th of 97 that was set in 1912 and tied in 1933.

Blaess said Monday and Tuesday is first back-to-back record highs in September since September 28th and 29th in 1953. Those highs were 92 on the 28th and 96 on the 29th.

There has been one other day with 90 or above this month and that was on Saturday the 7th with a high of 92 – but Blaess says that was NOT a record for that date.
